Putting together a presentation on my favorite lessons. This is from a project that I worked with the pre-college students on over the summer. The students each made a plaster cast of part of their body, and then used wax or paper casting to create a conceptual sculpture.

I just love this piece. This student spent so much time on it, and created such a very simple and clean aesthetic. It’s based on the Sanskrit word namaste-  which is roughly translated to “the divine light within me honors the divine light within you and all beings.” In yoga, the gesture of namaste represents the Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra.

This is my sculpture ^.^
